Chalet Villa Valania is situated in an enchanting location, at the entrance to Val Cancano, at an altitude of 2000 metres, just 12 km from Bormio and only 20 km from Livigno.
In our chalet and 3 star hotel there is a magical, fairy-tale atmosphere during the winter, and in the summer the colours of the crystalline waters, flowers and plants brighten up the atmosphere.
Chalet Villa Valania, which was established in 1997, was built on the ruins of former military barracks from the First World War, dedicated to the heroic Captain Valania from whom it takes its name.
In this place of natural beauty, you can enjoy a regenerating holiday in the Stelvio National Park.

From here you can set off on excursions, treks or easy walks along delightful nature trails. Or you can go fishing at the nearby artificial dams of Cancano and San Giacomo, just a few metres from the chalet. The area is also fabulous in the saddle of a bicycle or e-bike.

Rooms
True mountain refuges, each room in our chalet has its own name to distinguish it from the others. The names are those of mountains and Alpine flowers, adding a touch of magic.
All furnished in mountain style, made of wood, the 8 rooms are equipped with private bathroom, courtesy set, heating.
From here, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains or of our garden.

The Cuisine
A traditional cuisine that, during your holiday, will embrace and captivate you, taking you on a journey through flavours and fragrances. The Ristorante Valania is open for lunch and dinner and to be able to eat outside on sunny days is particularly pleasant.
The restaurant offers tasty specialities typical of Valtellina cuisine and at the same time satisfies the palate of the demanding cyclist or hiker who reaches the Val Cancano and needs simple, carbohydrate-rich cuisine.

Rock climbing wall
A few steps from Chalet Villa Valania, near the historic Fraele towers, is the most beautiful natural rock gym in Alta Valtellina, where you can take your first "steps" with the expert Alpine Guides of Alta Valtellina or train for challenging climbs.
Sport fishing
If you are fond of sport fishing, trout and char are awaiting you in the crystal-clear and evocative "Scale" lake, just a few metres from the Chalet, where you can buy daily fishing permits. Sport fishing is also permitted along the Cancano and San Giacomo dams.
